very simple prompts with reference images will generate this level of detail and realism.

Very nice. Can you send a copy of your prompt? Did you use Image-1.0 or Nano Banana Pro?
I have been using Whisk for a long time for images. I pay for Hailuo and have been using it only for video. I never considered of using Hailuo for images since it's not free. After seeing your image, I went and gave it a try.
Hailuo gives you 4 choices for the engines. The best seems to me to be Nano Banana Pro
Whisk uses (as of late 2025), Nano Banana (Pro?)and Veo 3
Nano Banana Pro is based on Gemini 3
Gemini can generate images directly with three choices (Fast, Thinking and Pro)
They are all Google, but the results are all different with the same Prompt. They can even vary wildly from one run to the next. They also change when you change the image Ratio.
Bottom line: Hailuo's version of Nano Banana Pro is by far the best at understanding the prompt and giving the most accurate results. Plus the images look like real life. I guess it's proof you get what you pay for, especially if you choose the 4K resolution
Whisk is still great and very to use for FREE
For a comparison, I also tested Grok. The images don't always match the prompts. Plus, Grok, on it's own, seems to add a lot more sexual flavor to everything.
I've attached several versions from each site using this prompt:
