I can remember back in the late 80’s when the popularity of Keds surged after Dirty Dancing! On Sundays, if I was bored would find myself walking around a nearby mall. One particular summer Sunday I was walking through Marshall Fields ( dept store Chicago area) I couldn’t believe how many woman were wearing Keds that day! The one that stands out in my memory, a blonde in her late 20’s in the shoe department in the process of buying a new pair of white Keds! At the time she had on an older pair of Keds , as she was trying them on, she had one brand new one on and the older one on at the same time and was walking around in n them testing the fit and how they looked in the mirror. It was only about a 15 second glimpse I saw of this beautiful blonde , but it really stuck in my mind! Ah, the good old days!

Yup department store were awesome 80's-90's. Every mom and daughter wearing Keds, some guys too but not many.

It's hard to find Keds in many stores any more.
In Canada we literally one major department chain remaining "The Bay". They still and have for years had a Keds display.
