I know this is going to sound very negative...but I've got to say something about it.

I'm sure some of you have seen those guys on Flickr with obvious Sneaker Fetishes (they name themselves Kedsboy or Sneakertrample or something like that) that post on girls' profiles who wear sneakers. I just want to know if anyone else here thinks they are just too overboard with their "pursuit" of girls who wear Keds.

They don't even try to hide it. They'll say things like "I love your keds, I bet they smell all nasty. Would love to sniff them," and that's if they're being polite. Some come right out with it. Some tag the Keds in the pictures with captions like "my face here" or "wish these would crush my <insert genital reference here>". Do they not understand that they are just freaking out these young women? Hell, they freak ME out, and I enjoy seeing women in Keds too! God forbid a girl actually tags her post with the label of Keds, because as soon as she does, a swarm of (from her point of view) crazy sneaker worshipping perverts are set upon her like wild dogs on a Thanksgiving turkey.

Even if we ignore the entire moral side of this, the practical consequence is that...guess what...the girls quit wearing/posting pictures of their Keds! And these people still don't get it! They keep asking for more pics or if they can buy her old shoes. I just do not understand them.

Anyway, that's my rant (yes, I was on Flickr yesterday). I am aware everyone might not feel the same way. What are your thoughts?

You must be careful, tasteful, and respectful or the word gets out that a creep is around.

Exactly. Sometimes it's best to just to not say anything at all to them. The very idea that someone finds that aspect of their wardrobe enticing might just be enough to make the girl think she's being set upon by freaks.

From what I've gathered of the members here (at least the ones that post-I have no doubt most of those guys know about this site at the very least), I can say with confidence that no one here strikes me as that type.

Massive peeve of mine too. I'd love to hunt down these weirdos and smash their modems, modest revenge for them taking a crap on our goldmines.

I'll add that those guys also usually have super-creepy pictures of themselves cross dressing in their profiles, and sometimes even as their avatar. Boneheads.

I think the best thing to do is to engage them in a firm and polite way and see if that makes a difference in their behavior.
