I have six large rubbermaid containers filled with girls and ladies skate shoes and sneakers.
hundreds of used Vans, Etnies, Circas, Adios, Nikes, New balances etc...
Many are special as they belonged to girls I've known or dated...girls have been aware of all this and stuck with me, indulged me even...
Maybe I just need to keep looking for another to share all these with me...but this collection takes up a LOT of space in my very small room and it's really become a problem for me.
I'm obsessed...I cleared out a bunch a few months ago but have pretty much filled back up to where I was again at this point from ebay, thrift stores etc.
Entertaining Ideas for how I can solve this problem, how to get rid of things I can barely imagine giving up.
So many lovely sneakers...if I had a huge house, I'd fill a room with them and roll around in it...but I don't.
Any ideas?
Shipping them out is expensive and would be a pain...a yard sale including so many differently sized ladies sneakers would seem strange with a guy holding it...people are starting to think I'm creepy.
And honestly, I'm starting to not blame them....
What do I do?

I have a big locked closet in my house where all of mine go, and I have several large boxes too. When it gets too much to manage I usually pack up my least favorites and take them to a donation center like Goodwill or Salvation Army.

I have had to clear my "collection" about 5 times in my life. It just seems to grow and before you know it, blam, sneakers falling out of the closets and cupboards. I suggest taking your all-time faves plus a couple more and fitting them into 1-2 of the containers. Then donate the rest to a few different shelters around your town. I always give to the humane society as I love dogs/cats. I know this is tough, but ever watch hoarders? Once you get down to just a couple of boxes, perhaps 2 boxes, play with them, smell them, jerk off in them and when you want to get a new pair or meet a girl that is into sneakers, then get rid of as many as new ones you get. Keep the collection a manageable size.

I HATED giving up my collection when I was a teenager, some ex-girlfriends, a pair of moms, but mostly thrift-stores and places like payless. Great memories but sometimes you either need the room or the new girlfriend just doesn't understand and just the shoes will blow up the relationship. I have come to a place in my life that within a month or so of dating a girl she will know about my love of sneakers and I totally will not stay with a girl that isn't into sneakers. Life's too short not to get to play with what you love..

Hope this helps,

thanks all...I just can't bring myself to purge...at all!

Hi
This has been a problem for me, but I do purge now and again, it makes room for the new ones, lol
Do it once and it gets easier. Just think of the new ones to come!
cheers kedman.

Why not rent one of those storage places? You won't need a 20x20 room; a 5 x 10 "closet" should do. This way you can "rotate your stock" and bring back sneakers you hadn't seen for a while, while putting away some you are temporarily tired of.

Well you could go through them and find someone who would perhaps model them for you so you could still get enjoyment but free up space.
