I was just out picking up cat food and pizza at the local plaza when a van door opened an out popped 2 young teens and a mom all wearing new keds champions. The mom had a tan top, white shorts and white keds, one of the girls was dressed in a light blue top, white shorts and white keds and the other navy top white shorts and navy keds. All the keds were brand new and I'm pretty sure the girls were twins, I had hard 🙂 time looking up from their feet.
 
Wow---nice sighting. Lots of keds at the State Fair Yesterday. 98% white keds. My wifes Navy champs were great. I only saw one other pair of Navy Champs.

What state were you in?? What fair? The LA county fair has ALWAYS been a great place to hunt for Keds and the like!

Not too many old school keds champs anymore, they are all the newer styles, but that is OK! As long as they are keds baby!!!

Young girls are not wearing champs, but they are wearing the other styles of Keds. These styles seem to be slowly evolving back towards champ-like styles. The soles are still thicker, but not as "klunky" as a year or so ago.

This is encouraging. With all the "retro" shoes coming back, it is only a matter of time for the good ole cha mps to come in again. I was just thinking when at the mall today if Keds will ever go back to the original champs. It's just NOT the same with the new heel- but at least we have them. Thanks to my mrs/mrs ted who continually wears hers for me. Seeker- as a "long-time member and minimal contributor(sorry just my style) I would really still enjoy seeing some more "old/worn" champs in the shoots. I'll try to get some pic's to you of the good ole keds soon. Thanks for keeping us together. And thanks to Crazy & Mule too! I'll be more active and hope to contribute some too going forward!

Getting the girls to wear someone elses dirty shoes is a bit of a problem. Luckily we have a couple models that have been around awhile like Sarah who are slowly breaking in their own pairs. 😀 I tend to let the models pick their own shoes for the shoots (personally I think it is sexy somehow) many of the models choose red which is odd because red was never a big colour but hey, Keds are Keds.

I wrote to Keds a month ago and asked about the flared heal and while the response said that they were still shipping the flared heal they implied that it would be replaced.

Thats very interesting. I was on their site yesterday and see that in the champs they do not have all sizes. For instance in the black champs they only have size 10 in the medium width. They have no size 71/2 slipons for my wife. 😢
 
We have a Keds outlet close to here and August 23 rd is their yearly blowout, maybe check your areas for similar sales.

The website tends to sell short about this time of year but likely you will see some sizes down the road a bit.

While I'm not a fan of the flared heal I must admit that I have been wearing an pair of navy all summer and they are really comfortable and have stood up very well. My wife feels the same about the heal but has bought a couple pair because of the comfort.
