I was wondering if you ever noticed some of these things with Tretorn Nylites.
- With new Nylites, the toe cap area is always crisp and prominent.
- This same area is also most likely where the first scuffs will appear.
- With older/more worn Tretorns, this toe area sometimes flattens which changes the entire profile of the shoe.
- Do you think this happens because of wear or the shoes getting wet like from rain? Or both?
- I've noticed that you can tell when a pair of Tretorns have been washed, regardless of by hand or in a washing machine. (Not including some gentle spot cleaning.) Once they have been washed and dried, the heel counter tends to cave in a little and it's as if the canvas shrinks somewhat. Do you know what I mean?
- I recall back in the 1980's when girls actually wore Tretorns to play tennis, you would see the toe area of one foot or the other worn down from girls dragging their foot when they served. Those were the more serious tennis players compared to the girls who just wore Tretorns as a casual shoe.
