Alert Vans Vans is in trouble

I agree, too many weird designs, patterns and colors. I prefer the basic colors in the Era or Authentic.

I'd like to add that Sperry in the last few years has gotten more boat sneakers styles. I've actually been going for them more and more instead of Vans

No shit they are in trouble! They stopped making one of the most popular and definetly sexiest models in the Lo Pros. Chicks wore them everywhere and so Vans stops making them? WTF retards! And I cannot stand the UGLY AF striped versions that are real popular right now. They need to go back to making the sexy, lo canvas models and get away from the giant, clunky, dorky, goofy models they are making now. Just like Keds, VERY POOR leadership, no advertising and stupid decisions.

Might apply to a lot of skate shoe companies. Been a while since I've seen DC's, Etnies or Osiris out in the wild. Really you just see it with the sneakerhead groups nowadays.

Authentics and old schools are their bread and butter.

Feel they missed an opportunity to bring back the plat sidestripe from about 20 years back. Those go for insane cash now and Delia's/Dolls kill made their own knock offs of these.

With the emo-scene aesthic sorts coming back from the mid y2k years, we might see slipons make a return to popularity.

Plat sidestripe ? Are you talking about the Plat Skool Vans from y2k?

Yeah, specifically this variation. They had the vans written in the cursive font on the sole and what not. Back then they were a big deal and seem to be popular enough to usually demand $150+ online. Likely with the crowd trying what I call that faux-2k look, folks my age nostalgic about these, and sneakerheads.

Dude, I see slip on vans everywhere! Not my thing as I LOVE te lace ups, but they are better than the heionus leather nikes that look like cloan shoes the little hotties are wearing.
