Thanks for posting. despite the pretty girls the shoes and tattoos mean i'm out. In fact, quite glad we dont have alt girls over here.

To each his own. I don't particularly like tattoos either, but there are other aspects of the content that float my boat. If you view all the posts in this thread you'll find most brands of sneakers (except Keds -- not part of the Alt Girls wardrobe, I guess).

The models on the Suicide Girls site are from many different countries. Chances are you do have them where you live; you just don't travel in the same circle!

That explanation works for me!

I believe the original source of alt girls photos was a publication named Front Army, which originated in the UK and featured models from that country. I have heard that Keds were/are not widely available in the UK, so that may be part of the reason for their absence. In real life in the US, I think I've only ever seen one or two alt girls wearing Keds. I agree this shoe seems to be at odds with the alt girl image.

I agree. Back in college in 2006-10, all the alt/hippie/punk girls wore black, beat up Chucks with custom laces, or Vans Authentics slip ons. No Keds, and even then, Keds seem like a shoe for girls who had a cleaner, preppier, more feminine style.

I would have thought I'd have seen more Doc Martin 1460's since those were supposedly popular with that kind of crowd. Surprisingly (and thankfully), I never saw very many Docs. Too clunky for my taste. I suppose those were out of many college girl's price range since it was a rural college? The quality of Docs have gone down since they stopped making them in England anyways.

I just love canvas style shoes, Keds, English plimsolls, Aussie sandshoes, don't really care as long as the chick wearing them is cute and the shoes worn, love them all ;-)

I would definitely agree, the young lady wearing said shoes needs to be tidy.
