I think the perception is that Keds are more girly and refined, and Converse are more tomboyish. Converse isn't shy about showing trashed or wet Chucks in their ads or on facebook, Keds doesn't. And Converse clean up better; I love wet Keds, but it's hard to avoid that yellow glue staining. just my theory.

What did you search? Or is it a regular site you visit? I did find the site using a reverse image search, and here's three more.

Not to over-generalize, I have found the girls that wear Converse are somewhat less concerned about dirt/mess. Keds girls seem to be a little more particular. I have seen girls in converse walk right through wet/muddy areas without much fuss whereas girls in Keds will take extraordinary measures to go around/over the same wet or muddy areas. For me, that's what makes seeing a girl get her nice Keds muddy when she didn't want to all the more entertaining.
