This version of Dexter takes place in his early 20's time frame the 90's. Generally there are lot's of sneaks. Debra's best friend wears colour block Keds in one episode. Sadly not a lot of closeups of anything and I'm in episode 9.

Followup. I finished the series. I can highly recommended this series to Dexter fans or anyone wanting to get started into it. They did a great job casting, the writing was great and it was true to the story line.

Thanks for the recommendation. I see the cast includes Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy The Vampire Slayer TV Series) -- I thought she might have retired to become a full-time mom. 10 episodes seems like a reasonable watch commitment. Apparently Season 2 will air in 2026.

It’s been renewed. Apparently it gained a pretty could audience.
