Just got back from a weekend in southern New Jersey. Whenever I go away I keep my eye open for women in Keds. Only a hand full of women in Keds or Keds type sneakers. The best one was a very nice looking women in a nicely worn pair of white sneakers very much like the Triumph style of about 10 years ago that I have pictured here. As I could look closer I saw they were plain white Vans. No colored stripe on the edging and they were not lo-pros. Just a basic Vans white sneaker that looked like these. A highlight of my trip.

I have not really seen any surge in Keds, no big celebrities, not much on the TV shows, or with movies. I was hoping for a resurgence with the neutral keds, but nothing. I was also hoping to see some in Costco, but this summer and last summer there was nothing being sold in any Big ware house stores. If there is a come back for keds, I hope they bring back the white eyelets and go back to the solid colour stitching again. It would also be nice if keds started selling shoes laces on their website again. My cousin wife wanted to get keds for her kids in different colours in the champion in big youth, but they only have the white canvas and white leather. Sad that Keds is dropping the ball again.

I think Keds is a dead company. The monkeys in charge have NO CLUE what TF they are doing. Keds just keeps losing market share, getting dropped from stores and even farther out of the public spotlight. Kids/teens/20's don't even know the brand! They have never been exposed to it so they can't even try them. Keds have gotten more expensive, slightly even more uncomfortable, and even harder to buy. The canvas style shoes have basically fallen away. Some Vans with that UGLY AF stripe and converse rarely, but they have basically disappeared. Out of sight is out of mind, Keds should FIRE all upper management and marketing and try something fresh cause what they have done the last 20 years sure AF hasn't worked - unless the goal was to drive down sales and disappear from the market.

Nothing here in Ottawa, a few sightings into COVID but that is it. Good news is Reebok and AF ones are out and slimmer sneakers are in style.... I am thinking 2030 at the earliest for a revival. I am an old dude who lived though 2 Keds revivals.... Grade 12 dude when most of the chicks are sporting Keds or knockoffs in 1989....
 
It has to start somewhere. I'm in SF right now and I've seen ages 20-40 wearing them, albeit mainly Pursuit and Center styles. There has been some good press (Vogue, Elle, Cosmo - and Keds is calling it out) so that's maybe the seed that starts it up again.
