In a 1995 episode of the Flipper TV Series (Season 1, Episode 5), there is a scene where a middle aged woman in white Keds and and ankle socks attempts to jump from the side of a boat to the beach they just pulled up onto. The ground is wet and slippery where she lands and ends up sliding into the water up to her waste. Her entire outfit was ruined which clearly upset her.

She spent the rest of the episode in soaking wet, muddy Keds.

For those who don't know, that series also featured Jessica Alba in her first starring role (Seasons 1 & 2 only) -- and she was frequently seen wearing sneakers (some generic brand as I recall). There are probably some screenshots elsewhere on the S-G site. Here are a few I happened to have handy:
