I'm pretty sure she wears these (or a similar Keds knockoff) in subsequent episodes -- although not shown as prominently. Of course, this is a homage to the footwear choice of Judge Harold T. Stone (Harry Anderson) in the original series. He wore some brand of athletic sneakers (not Keds), though.

I've been watching the reboot because I think it's well-written, funny and captures the spirit of the 1980's version -- and the sneakers are an extra bonus.

You may recognize Melissa Rauch from her role as Bernadette on The Big Bang Theory (minus the grating, high-pitched voice). She's blessed with an ample bosom that's not likely to be revealed by the show's wardrobe.
