If @missyplimsolls photos are a guide, it seems plimsolls are alive and well in both the theatre world and amateur motor racing world.

I guess in theatres they are soft, quiet, inconspicuous and cheap enough so make sense there.

In racing cheap and flexible are their big advantage.

I remember them as a school PE item, even at the senior school where they made sense but equally seemed old fashioned at that point. I guess that others remember them more mainly?

Ps if anyone wants to PM me and compare notes that's fine...

These pics were actually on this website but maybe no one has seen these as they weren't flagged as plimsolls specific. The grass in the background reminds me of seeing them in outdoor athletics classes.

I was the original poster (a month ago). When uploading a large collection of assorted sneakers as I did in this thread, it isn't practical (too time consuming) to select tags for each image. There may be more Plimsolls in that thread...enjoy the potential for discovery!
